Our services and fees

The cost of a standard consultation (50-60 minutes) is $214.41, payable at the time of the session by a credit or debit card that is stored securely in our payment processing system

NDIS funding can be accepted as payment for clients who are self-managed or plan-managed NDIS participants. Please advise us if you intend to use NDIS funding so that we can send you a service agreement.

Medicare rebates may apply but there are limitations to this and an out of pocket fee will still apply (see APS website for detailed explanation).

Information about claiming Medicare rebates can be found on the Services Australia website.

Private health rebates may apply, please contact your insurance provider for more information about what entitlements you may have.

If you would like to book a session:

We strongly believe that every Australian should have access to quality mental health care, regardless of their financial situation. That's why we charge significantly lower than the fee of $300/session recommended by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi).

Our commitment is to providing clients with the best possible care, which extends beyond the time spent in session. We dedicate time to improving clinical skills and knowledge, and to remaining up-to-date on current best practice and ethical standards, and to responding to emails and phone calls. A portion of each session fee covers this additional work.

Psychologists have an ethical responsibility to ensure ongoing professional development and adequate self-care, and
- As a psychologist, I am bound by a Code of Ethics that includes ongoing professional development and self-care. The Code also requires me to ensure that I am not under undue stress (including financial stress) that may impact my ability to provide treatment to my clients. A portion of each session fee covers the cost of this ethical obligation.

We have the same fee and cancellation policies for all clients. Failure to pay session fees may result in future sessions being paused, postponed, or cancelled in order to avoid undue financial stress through accumulating debt.

I have the same fee and cancellation policies for all clients, because I believe that it's unfair for some clients to receive different treatment based on payment arrangements. Failure to pay session fees may result in future sessions being paused, postponed, or cancelled in order to avoid undue financial stress to my clients. Ongoing failure to pay outstanding session fees may result in the debt being referred to a collection agency. I have a strong preference to avoid this and I will attempt to work with you in any way I can to resolve outstanding fees without going to this extreme.

If, for some reason you need to cancel or postpone your appointment, please give at least 2 business days notice, otherwise you will be charged the cost for the session.

We understand that sudden illness and unexpected emergencies can arise, and in these circumstances, we may waive the cancellation fee.

We value our psychology sessions and the work we do together, and when we dedicate a regular session space to you, we commit to that session space. Committing to regular booking spots is a responsibility shared by both the clinician and the client. This commitment demonstrates the client's dedication to treatment and provides a sense of stability and security.

Frequent cancellations and rescheduling may make it difficult for me to offer ongoing regular session bookings. This is unfair to clients on the waiting list who may be able to attend regularly.

Please note that Medicare and private health funds do not cover cancellation fees, and the client is liable to cover the entire cost personally.

We do not offer ad hoc bookings as this does not provide a regular schedule of sessions. Evidence-based practice indicates that having a regular schedule of sessions is important for achieving optimal outcomes and avoiding undue stress for clients.
